One Space presents “Earth Beats”, a uniquely Australian experience which will move your body & soul.
Headlining act Wild Marmalade are supported by Chris Tamwoy.
Earth Beats brings all the key Wild Marmalade players together for the first time. The all-star cast features didgeridoo player Si Mullumby, pioneering members drummers Matthew Ledgar and Matthew Goodwin, guitarist Paul George from Tijuana Cartel, South Indian percussion specialist Tunji Beier and last but not least drummer Ben Walsh from The Bird and Circle of Rhythm. All players are leaders in their fields and the group represents the cutting edge of Australian musicianship.
Special guest and internationally renowned indigenous elder, yidaki player and story teller Mark Atkins will present two of his iconic poems and feature as an integral part of the band.
Support artist Chris Tamwoy is a self-taught guitarist with a unique playing style and sound. His signature guitar-tap style and vibrant personality see him in high-demand. Dubbed as a ‘guitar virtuoso’, this humble young man is on the cusp of a promising music career.
Wild Marmalade are the pioneers of the didgeridoo and drum sound that has now become a global movement. They have hand-made a following around the world from people who have had a direct experience with the visceral power of their sound. The potent combination of the earthy resonance of the didgeridoo with fiery drums and percussion creates an irresistible desire to dance.
