Commissioned by the Townsville Hospital & Health Service, represented artist Tamika Grant-Iramu was engaged to create an art commission for the The Townsville Hospital South Block Project.
Inspired by the immediate natural environment of the Townsville region, this new body of work focuses on the minute areas of native flora and the coastal landscape that surround the new South Block building. The artworks developed encompass the Entry Corridor, Staff Station and Patient Lounge and create an immersive space that demonstrates the importance of art and nature in union with the healthcare sector.
Additional to Tamika’s large-scale artwork commission, Townsville Hospital & Health Service aquired a selection of artworks by Elisa Jane Carmichael and Jo Lankester to inhabit the South Block.
