Onespace warmly congratulates artists Tamika Grant-Iramu and Renee Kire who have been awarded funding through Arts Queensland’s 2026 Round 2 Queensland Arts Project Fund. They will deliver Common Ground, a collaborative exhibition that reimagines and challenges traditional notions of industrial design.
This collaboration brings together Tamika’s established practice in printmaking and public art, with Renee’s sculptural practice to explore the intersection of art and industrial design. Their project investigates new ways of bringing contemporary art into everyday settings, creating conceptually driven works that reflect Brisbane’s natural and urban environments.
Renee states, “Tamika and I are incredibly excited for this opportunity to bring these new ideas to fruition. Thank you, Arts Queensland, and Onespace for your continued support.”
Well-timed Government support provides invaluable opportunities for individual artists, especially those working hard to establish their professional practice. For early career artists like Tamika and Renee, this support is vital to foster significant and ambitious new bodies of collaborative work that engage new audiences.
Onespace represented artist, Tamika, is a former NATSIAA finalist, who has undertaken several public art commissions including at the STARS Herston Hospital and currently underway at the Boggo Road Railway Station for Cross River Rail. She is collected by QAGOMA and the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Renee has presented her work in spaces including the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, Buxton Contemporary, Rockhampton Museum of Art, Brisbane Powerhouse, Metro Arts and Outer Space. In 2023 she presented her solo show, any way, shape or form, at Onespace and was also recognised as a finalist in the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award.
Onespace has proudly supported both Tamika and Renee’s artistic practices over several years and we are excited to see what this new collaboration will yield.
