Teddy Horton is a Queensland-based photographer and digital media artist. Working with 100% AI-generated video and photography, Horton creates humorous, poetic works that subvert familiar character stereotypes and storytelling conventions while examining the creative possibilities and contradictions of generative AI. Rather than pursuing realism, she embraces the medium’s imperfections, using an experimental process of prompting, training, editing, and refinement across multiple AI platforms.
Horton’s practice has received significant recognition, including a Highly Commended award in the 2021 Next Gen Brisbane Portrait Prize for Rabbit Phone, inclusion in the 2023 Horizon Festival, the Emerging Artist Award at the 2024 Queensland Regional Arts Awards for Stars Align, and finalist status in the 2025 Churchie Emerging Art Prize for The Reaper. In 2025, she presented her first solo exhibition, Poodle Boy with Onespace Gallery.
