Onespace warmly congratulates represented artist Teho Ropeyarn on his inclusion in the 2026 NATSIAA Exhibition. Teho is descended from the Angkamuthi and Yadhaykana clans from Injinoo Country, Cape York Peninsula, Queensland; Badu, Moa and Murray Island in the Torres Strait; Woppaburrapeople (Great Keppel Island) and Batchulla people (Fraser Island).

Teho’s profound, new work, a memorial without end… can be seen at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, from 27 June 2026 – January 2027.

a memorial without end… continues Teho’s evolving printmaking practice, with the use of complex tonal graduations and atmospheric shifts in creating these ambitious works. The work comprises a ‘floating wreath,’ a ‘hybrid flower’ and a ‘star suspended in space,’ all symbolising the ongoing loss faced within First Nations communities today.  The wreath becomes a constellation of remembrance; honouring lives lost to preventable and systemic causes while speaking to the experience of carrying memory across generations. Ropeyarn states, “This wreath is for them. It is a constellation of absence. A memorial without end. A quiet orbit of those who remain present in spirit but no longer in body, not gone, not here, forever circling.”

Selected from more than 200 entries, this year’s exhibition presents 64 outstanding works exploring intergenerational storytelling, the continuation of cultures, connections to Country, and the enduring impacts of Australia’s colonial history on individuals and communities.

We congratulate Teho and all the finalists on their selection in the 2026 Telstra NATSIAA Exhibition.
