Zoe is a Brisbane based cross-disciplinary artist who exhibits regularly in Australia and overseas. She recently graduated from QCA with a Doctorate of Visual Art (2014) and works across a range of media including drawing, installation, performance, video and costume. She has undertaken several international residencies including Crane Arts, Philadelphia (2012) and Geidai University, Tokyo (2010).
As part of the onsite exhibition at Onespace Zoe will present a series of new works on paper, artist’s books, wall works and photographic documentation of live collaborative performances. The onsite exhibition will be a continuation of her current practice which explores in-between states, animal-human hybrid forms and the body in a state of flux and transformation. Using a combination of documentation from live performances, photographic references, collage and intuitive processes she will create a number of works over a two-week period onsite. These works will investigate themes of dislocation and metamorphosis that blur the boundaries between the rational and dream-like, presenting possibilities for other ways of being through a cross-disciplinary approach.
